I used to love to watch Goerge he always turned up and entertained with his sideways driving style.  In the pits at Aycliffe his mechanic told him he had run out of slicks he told him to put the 2 new treaded tyres on and he would make him some!!!!!!  Brilliant what Stock Cars where all about in my opinion fun and lots of it.

As a result of the rather unexpected discussion on the 'Not On My Site' thread, I thought another list type thread might be in order... So, as I said:

It's just as important to me to have the bad guys as well as the good guys. FWJ certainly falls into that former category for me, but it's an important role and the sport wouldn't be half as enjoyable without someone to boo... The...

Watching the videos in the YouTube section of the site has highlighted Brian as a driver who deserves his own thread.

Brian started in F1 in 1971 following a few years dabbling in the Juniors. He made an instant impact - winning his second ever F1 final and going straight from white to red. Brian was one of those drivers who never quite lived up to his promise in terms of championships, his best chance being the 1981 World Final where he fought his way up to a very impressive second...

A good old list to get the discussion going on here again

In this sport, it's easy to get carried away by the whole emotion of it - the lows are as much a part of it as the highs. What do you remember as the most disappointing moments for you in all your time following stock cars? Could be anything that comes to mind for you as a spectator or a driver - and as personal or general as you like... For me...

1. Lenny losing the 1984 Belle Vue World Final to some young...

I mourn the loss of the hard hitting "big bumper" merchants of the sport, drivers who would strike fear into the opposition and entertain the crowd, even if not competing for the lead. My own personal favourites were Big Bad Bobby Burns and Kev Smith!
I'd be interested to know who other people regarded as the most feared men on track?
And what about the spoilers and clowns too? I can...
