Who can remember this great stopping off point on way back to Yorkshire ,after a nights racing at Nelson [situated on the Burnley road ,opposite the park ,loads of the drivers of the 60,s and 70,s used to park up for supper [and some times a pint in pub next door] a few that spring to mind are Willie 2,Bammy 353, Gordon 293,Brian thorne, Kieth Jubb ,it used to be the half way point back into Yorkshire a chance to meet your favourite drivers ,[and reet good grub]

one driver that I havent seen mention in this forum so far is the Flower power Driver (225 Russ Bates). I saw him race about 10 times and the only place that I saw him was at the old belle vue (hyde road) track. He was a great driver but for some reason Belle Vue wasnt that nice to him a few times and saw him badly crash in the fence and never re-started the race either. Was wandering does anyone know what happened to him before we left the UK in 1978 he wasnt racing all that much and never...

Does anyone recall the late Paul Sumner 273 from the late seventies, early 80's? Was a close friend of my late father, if my memory serves me correct, i think he only ever made it as far as a blue top, and mainly raced the local tracks to us, i.e Sheffield, Buxton, Belle Vue, maybe Bradford? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi all Just a quick up date, Had a good run out at Cov just a little miffed at the yellows in the Coni then on the restart seemed to have a brake problem so that was it, we got that sorted at home by replacing disc,So then off to the Vue where in my heat I think I got hit by just about every one plus I spun at leased 3 times all on my own when I came off I was gutted at the front end damage but the car still ran so took it out for the coniand placed 9th which put me inthe final  :yay:but...

Anyone got any photos of these?  I can remember Ian Barker (53) running one at Long Eaton sometime in the seventies but I think people mainly raced them at Aycliffe and nearby.  Anyone help?
